Located in the midst of the High Desert area in the beautiful city of Bend, Oregon where the rugged landscape is filled with juniper and pine trees as far as the eye can see. If you're standing on a rise you can look in every direction and view the majestic rise of Mt. Bachelor, the three sister mountains of Sisters, Oregon, Mt. Jefferson, and on a really clear day, Mt. Hood. The Deschutes River tumbles through the region and can be heard from my deck on a quiet evening as it rushes along it's hurried course.

When I was 15 years of age I received a recipe box of my grandmothers' after she passed away. Inside and tucked in between all her goodie recipes I found recipes for rose water, hand lotion, lye soap, laundry detergent and several other skin care recipes that had come from the late 1800's, early 1900's. I've always wondered about the stories behind them and who she might have received them from. So I decided to create a few stories of my own. I played with her recipes then altered them to suit my own ideas of natural, herbal skin care by removing the animal by products and using plant oils and extracts instead. Since then I have created some wonderful salves and rubs, body butters, foot balms, herbal soaps, studied the nature of herbs and the use and properties of essential oils for aromatherapy and health maintenance. Crafting has always been a part of who I am and nearly 7 years ago I added my herbal skin care line to my love of crafting and opened up my small but rewarding business so that I could share with you the benefits of natural skin care and the beauty if gives to your skin.

On Febrary 12, 2007 my family and I lost our handsome brother and friend, the youngest of seven, in a traffic accident. He was the passenger in a compact vehicle and fortunately never saw the Dodge Ram 4x4 that barrelled it's way into him. His silly, sweet laughter is heard daily in our memories, his gentleness never forgotten. 6 1/2 months later, with our pain, grief and sorrow still fresh and raw, we lost two more on August 29, 2007. Our sweet, sweet, beautiful youngest sister Kim, mother of three and my best friend, and her husband Richard, the love of her life, were taken from us in a tractor trailer accident in Oklahoma that wiped out an overpass bridge. They were both crushed and died instantly just before the cab burst into flames. Grief has become a close personal friend, missing them is constant and never ending. To this day, none of us can look upon or pull up next to a tractor trailor or even a Dodge Ram without aching, hurting and wondering.
All 3 deaths have left behind teenage children that sadly suffer the most. So for all of us that have been left to grieve, and for them and the lives they lost, I dedicate this website. May they continue to live on in each of us, making us all aware of how short and precious life truly is. Their presence, their very essence, is felt each and every day in the decisions and roads our family travels. They have gone home and from their lofty perch they watch over us, lifting us from troubled paths and dangerous curves. God rest their souls.
